- Teach in the way
Psalm 25:12
What man is he that feareth the Lord? Him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
If a man fears the lord, then the Lord will teach that man in the way that God will choose. No one fears the Lord above all things, that is, keeps all God’s commandments perfectly. But Jesus did, then died as an innocent, righteous and perfect human to earn God’s gift of righteousness and blessedness for us. By faith we are accounted as those who fear the Lord. Thus the believer is entitled to claim the promise that God Himself will teach him in the way; and by “teach in the way,” He means that He will not only teach him the facts about living in the way, but He will also give him the power in real life to live in the way according to the teaching: he will not only listen but also do. The man’s actual behavior will begin to conform to the right way of living that He chooses.
Fearing God includes repenting and believing. One aspect of repentance is when the Holy Spirit changes our desires so that we actually want to walk in His way and avoid the way we would naturally choose. Do you think it would be God’s will for you to ask Him to make you a better person? He is waiting for you to ask. He loves to answer that prayer; God would love to teach you in the way that He shall choose. Give Him a shot. Allow yourself to be humble and meek enough to be teachable and moldable. He promises to hear your prayer and change your life. Let Him teach as He is wont to do and He wants to do.
