340. Everlasting Dominion
Daniel 7:14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
The Ancient of Days gave dominion and glory and a kingdom to the One like the Son of Man. This Person has everlasting dominion over all people and nations and languages. His Kingdom will not pass away nor be destroyed, ever. Jesus of Nazareth wrested dominion away from Sin and the Devil by His death on the cross. Jesus took absolute dominion over Death and destroyed it by His resurrection from the tomb. Jesus, the Son of Man, declared, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”
Paul asserts in I Corinthians 15:24: “Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.” The promise is that That Day will come. The resurrection of Christ guarantees it. Death will take us, because of Sin; Life will be given to us, because of Christ.
The dominion of the Son of Man is universal, total, all encompassing, and absolutely nothing is left outside of His control. The dominion of the Son of Man is everlasting, will never pass away, and can never be destroyed. Thank God, we are included in that Kingdom by faith in Jesus. This promise is for us. Believers are a part of the eternal dominion of the kingdom. It would be a good idea to enter that kingdom now for it is the one that will win in the end. And when the End comes that will not be the end. Life comes with the Son of Man. Life enters our dead bodies when we believe in Him. Life is with us now and never leaves, ever. So we thank and praise Jesus; we worship Jesus alone, “For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.”
