Human Response 951: Cry Unto God

Psalm 138:3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.

Our response to trouble and need is to cry to the Lord. We turn to God and pray when we have nowhere else to turn. “In the day” when we cry God hears right away and sets about answering me and strengthening me. He does not delay bringing an answer, and He strengthens me while I wait for the answer to resolve.

Prayer is my response to a problem, and God’s response to my cry is to solve the problem. Based on this wonderful promise I am eager to cry to the Lord and pray to His loving heart, for I believe “the prayer of a righteous person has great power in its working [James 5:16].” God’s promise to answer in the day I pray encourages me to “take it to the Lord in prayer.”
